Common terms and definitions of rolling bearings (Part 1)

1 Rolling bearing

a bearing that makes rolling motion between parts that support loads and move relative to each other. It includes parts with raceways and rolling elements with or without isolation or guides. It can be used to bear radial, axial or combined radial and axial loads

2. Single row bearing

the rolling bearing with a row of rolling elements ensures the continuity and stability of the physical assets of the product

3. Double row bearing

rolling bearing with two rows of rolling elements

4. Multi row bearings

have more than two rows of rolling elements. For rolling bearings bearing the load in the same direction, it is best to point out the number of rows and bearing types, such as four row radial cylindrical roller bearings

5. For bearings without cage, the total clearance between the circumference of each row of rolling elements is less than the diameter of the rolling elements and as small as possible, so that the bearings have good performance

6. Angular contact bearing

rolling bearings with nominal contact angle greater than 0 but less than 90

7. Self aligning bearing

the first raceway is spherical, which can adapt to the angular deviation and angular movement between the axis lines of the two raceways in time

8. Separable bearing

rolling bearing with separable parts

9. Non separable bearing

rolling bearings whose bearing rings cannot be freely separated after final assembly

note: for bearings with parts separated by different methods, such as ball bearings with double half rings (02, 01, 08), there is no other abbreviation

10. Inch bearing

rolling bearing whose overall dimensions and tolerances are expressed in inch units in the original design

11. Open type bearing

rolling bearing without dust cover and sealing ring

12. Seal ring bearing

rolling bearings with seal rings on one or both sides

13. Dust cap bearing

rolling bearings with dust caps on one or both sides

14. Closed bearing

rolling bearing with one or two seal rings, one or two dust covers, one seal ring and one dust cover

15. Pre lubricated bearings

rolling bearings that have been filled with lubricant by the manufacturer

16. Instrument precision bearing

rolling bearing for instrument

17. Group bearing

rolling bearings that are matched into a pair or group

(II) radial bearing

1 Radial bearing

is mainly used for rolling bearings bearing radial load. Its nominal contact angle is between 0 and 45. Its basic parts are inner ring, outer ring and rolling elements with or without cage

2. Radial contact bearing

radial rolling bearing with nominal contact angle of 0

3. Angular contact radial bearing

radial rolling bearing with nominal contact angle greater than 0 to 45

4. Outer spherical bearing

centripetal rolling bearing with outer spherical surface and wide inner ring with locking parts. It is mainly used for simple shells

5. Tapered bore bearing

centripetal rolling bearing with tapered bore on the inner ring

6. Flange bearing

on one of its rings, it is generally a centripetal rolling bearing with outer diameter flange on the outer ring or conical outer ring

7. Roller (rolling) bearing ()

centripetal rolling bearing with thick section outer ring, which rolls on the guide rail as a wheel, such as cam guide rail

8. Retaining ring type roller (rolling) bearing ()

roller rolling bearing equipped with a pair of flat retaining rings

9. Wan Zao was able to assemble bearings in 2015. When one or more sets of the same radial rolling bearings are selected to be used together, the characteristics specified by the pre paired or group installation can be obtained

(III) thrust bearing

1 Thrust bearing

is mainly used for rolling shaft bearing axial load. It is lubricated with 100 oil. Its nominal contact angle is greater than 45 to 90. Its basic parts are shaft ring, seat ring and rolling element with or without cage

2. Axial contact bearing

thrust bearing with nominal contact angle of 90

3. Angular contact thrust bearing

thrust rolling bearing with nominal contact angle greater than 45 but less than 90

4. One way thrust bearing

thrust rolling bearing that can only bear axial load in one direction
